There is an internal lanscape, a geography of the soul; we search for its outlines all our lives.

The first line in Damage by Josephine Hart.

This book is dynamic, and was made into a movie starring Jeremy Irons. It is told in first person from the dark hero's POV.

You always have such apt quotes, Linda. Tres Bien. Where do you get them?

I read this book years ago. It is about obsession and the effect it has on the lives of these characters. I loved that first line and the writing in general. You don't see the ending coming. I remember sitting in the dentist's office crying (not about the visit but about what was happening in the book.

My fridge is covered with magnets of all sorts, family and pet photos and children's drawings. Very telling.

I am not aware of this book, or the movie. I'll have to check them both out.
