Romance Writers of America swarmed into Florida toward Disney World last week. Many of the 2,000+ of us attending stayed at the Dolphin and the Swan hotels.
Our Mona was signing books there with the big name New York authors. Go Mona!
The view from our room was awesome! Well, was to a tired person!
This night shot was taken from a bridge joining the main conference hotels. Florida is HOT, really HOT!
The walk across the bridge seemed longer in the evenings than in the mornings. Wonder why? The workshops were in the Dolphin and we stayed in the Swan, of course.
Scarlet was my roomie! Come back to hear about little chickens raised to feed conference women. More to come later!
Hi girls,
I ran into Mona a few times, but didn't see the rest of you. Sorry I missed you, but it was a weird conference with me, and not a good idea to have a hubby along - too distracting! Did you get any industry buzz?
I am so sorry I missed you, Patrice. Good thing you found Mona.
I was too busy networking, but the buzz about Dorchester going digital is all over the place today, like it exploded.
Conferences are more fun without kids or husbands to worry about.
Good to see some pictures! glad you had a good conference!! And, yes, Florida is HOT!!!
Mona, What lovely picture. I can't wai to sign at national next year. I hope all the Fuzzies make it to NY.
Ops need to change my picture back. That was me last week at Mary's roast. We were in paris.
You were hot Autumn!!
Glad you all got home safely and had a good time!
Judy, it was hot, indeed. That walk between hotels was longer each time. There will be more photos! You'll love the one of Mona dancing in the tables.
Autumn, Mona looked so wonderful behind the signing table. We'll soon need a table of our own for the Fuzzies!
It that pictures is of Autumn, she was quite HOT! I had a good time working the conference!
Mary,
What a wonderful post. Nationals must have been a fabulous experience for all 2,000 plus RWA members. It's so thrilling to see our Mona (yes, our Mona) at the book-signing. Congrats!
I remember a RWA conference I attended near Disneyland--back in the nineties. E-books were just coming in and someone had invited me to interview a few authors. I loved the dedication of those writers, and I think of them whenever I read romance.
