Like a Kid in a Candy Store.
Did I mentioned watching our own Mona Risk, author of To Love a Hero, sign books at the 2010 RWA National book signing for literacy. There were literally hundreds of authors there, so I roamed around like a kid in a candy store.
The adorable Jane Porter smiled her sunshine spreading smile at a fan and then at me. Easy on the Eyes beckons me to read it, too. I know I'll love it as well as I did Flirting with Forty, Odd Mom Out and her Harlequin Presents books.
Hey, I also found Karen White, author many Women's Fiction books, including The Girl on Lagare Street, which I devoured and her newest books which are at the top of my to-be-read
stack.
.
Anyone recognize Sophie Littlefield, author of A Bad Day for Sorry? I loved that book and am now laughing at A Bad Day for Pretty. I love slightly crazy middle-aged kick ass women.
Super pics and authors, Mary. Oooooh what fun you did have!
I love looking at these pics. It makes feel like I was there. Next year NY.
Thanks for posting them, Mary.
Living RWA vicariously through you, Mary. Keep the photos coming!
More will follow since we have some empty days coming up, Autumn and Beth.
A Bad Day for Pretty and a Bad Day for Sorry are both Mystery Guild selections in the last brochure. Wow! Really impressed!
It was certainly a great conference. Looking forward to more pics, Mary!
Toni, Sophie is a doll and the books are a hoot! You would enjoy them.
Hi, Barbara, I have a photo of you for the next installment.
Glad you had such a good time and a chance to schmooze...
When you publish that book you will already be well known!
Glad you had fun, wish I coulda gone!!
MM was quite the social butterfly. I absolutely could not keep up with her. Everyone knows and loves our MM. National was great, busy, busy, busy. I have so much to do that I don't know where to get started!
Our Scarlet was quite busy herself. I've been to so many conferences, I've met a lot of folks. I wish my Fuzzy Slippers ladies had all been able to join us!
Judy, I enjoy meeting people!
Mary, you had way too much fun at National this year.
But I still missed my Pammie!
What a wonderful post, Mary. And so exciting to see our very own Mona at the top of the list. Great pictures of some of my favorite authors.
Well, Mary, if you like:
"slightly crazy middle-aged kick ass women"...
then you and me and my quirky, super kick-ass, also smart-ass, characters are going to have some-kinda big huge blast hangin' out together!!!
Can't wait to chat with you all this Saturday right here on Pink Fuzzy Slipper Writers.
And wait 'til you see my new slippers!!! Oh Boy! Oh Boy! Oh Boy!!!
