Good Sunday morning. I'm Mary Marvella Barfield, AKA Mary Marvella, the mama of this group blog and a writer. We hope you enjoy our week of giveaways. I'll be giving away a copy of each of my two e-books, Haunting Refrain and Forever Love.
Are you counting the days 'til Halloween? Have you seen enough Halloween candy in the stores, enough costumes, enough references to the evening kids hope to get enough candy to make any adult ill? Well today's blog is about a grown up is about adult candy. Yes we have prizes all week for folks who love to read.
This morning is a mite chilly, as we southerners might say. Even so, last night I wandered in a park listening to southern ghost stories. (I'm a story teller and I love stories.) Stone Mountain National Park is in the quaint historic town called Stone Mountain village, north of metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. The park is actually the mountain, and, yes, it is a rock, a HUGE rock, hence the name Stone Mountain. Within the park there is a plantation with buildings that allow visitors to feel they have gone back in time.
The annual Tour of Southern Ghosts is my chance to hang with story tellers and walk around in a long skirt and enjoy people who like stories. The Stone Mountain ART Station provides the tellers and the guides. I am a guide. Last night it was cold, but the visitors didn't seem to mind.
.
Tonight they will carry on without me, but I'll be back next weekend to hunt for ghosts and listen to wonderful stories.

Mary, your Stone Mountain Park gig sounds like so much fun. I'd like to see a story set there. Years ago I started writing a children's paranormal that took place there, but now I don't even remember what it was about. Any chance you'll write a Stone Mountain story some day??
This is great guys... And, Mary, the trip to Stone Mountain sounds like such fun. We never did get to do that when we lived there. Wish we had.
I would love to see it!
Great blog MM! As always!!
I'll consider it, Barbara. The gig is really fun, even in the rain and freezing weather
Thanks, Mary R. You would love the stories and the costumes.
Lovely pictures MM! I keep saying I coming up for the Ghosts stories at Stone Mountain, but I haven't managed it yet. Maybe this year.
I'll get you here eventually!
Stone Mountain is amazing! And Haunting Refrain sounds like my kind of book! Thanks for this!
Thanks, Calisa! I'll be working there Saturday and Sunday. You can download 20% of each of my books free to see if you like them.
